Amy Trost is a nonprofit advisor and strategist dedicated to helping emerging and growing organizations build strong foundations, clear direction, and sustainable funding. Through her work, she supports nonprofit leaders in moving from vision and passion to structured governance, strategic clarity, and long-term impact.
As the Founder and CEO of Mission Hustle, Amy brings more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit formation, board governance, strategic planning, grant readiness, and funding development. She works alongside nonprofit leaders to establish compliant, well-governed organizations prepared to compete for foundation, corporate, and government funding.
To date, Amy has helped more than 1,000 organizations incorporate and obtain 501(c)(3) status. Her grant portfolio spans grassroots foundation awards to multi-million-dollar federal funding, including projects exceeding $48 million. She has successfully written and managed grants across corporate, foundation, and government streams, bringing federal-level rigor and clarity to organizations at every stage of development.
Amy’s journey began in 2012 when she founded her first nonprofit and experienced firsthand how complex and overwhelming the formation and funding process can be. That experience shaped her commitment to providing practical guidance, strong governance frameworks, and structured planning tools that help nonprofit leaders build and grow with confidence.
